Box Column Assembly Instructions
[See what comes in the box]

  1. Unscrew both self tapping screws that attach PVC column to aluminum post.
  2. Measure from floor to ceiling where column is to be installed. If measurements are the same as column, go to step 5. If adjustments need to be made then proceed to step 3.
  3. Cut aluminum post to 1/4" less than floor to ceiling height.
  4. Cut PVC column to 8" less than floor to ceiling height.
  5. Place aluminium post at desired installation location. Plum post and
mark through the 1/4" holes on the aluminum brackets to beam and
    floor.
  6. Pre-drill floor and ceiling using marks as guides.
  7. Return Aluminum post inside PVC column, but do not attach column to post.
  8. Align aluminum post back to desired installation location.
  9. Starting with the top of the column place one end cleat over the aluminum bracket and secure both cleat and bracket to beam using the proper screws for this installation type.
  10. Raise PVC column approximately 8" (see figure B) to top of beam and secure with self tapping screw to aluminum post. (this will allow hands free for bottom installation)
  11. Place remaining end cleat over aluminum bracket and secure both cleat and bracket as seen in (figure B) with the proper screw for this installation type.
  12. Unscrew PVC column from aluminum post allowing column to rest on cleat. Move column so the opposite side cleat hole is visible and screw through cleat and bracket to floor. (see figure C)
  13. Finally raise PVC column back to 4" from floor and screw self tapping post screws through PVC column and aluminum post no more than 1" from PVC column end. (see figure D) Do not use same holes!
  14. For uplift requirements install the proper screws to secure aluminum bracket to post. (see figure D) 15. Slide base trim down making sure to nail into cleat and PVC column. Nail any extra trim provided to PVC column. (See figure E)
  15. While painting our products is not necessary, if you wish to do so, please paint columns with a high quality 100 percent acrylic latex paint. Use paint with a light reflective value of 55 or greater. Use only Vinyl safe paints.

Measure from floor to ceiling where column is to be installed.
  2. If measurements are the same as column, go to step 5. If adjustments need to be made then proceed to step 3.
  3. Starting with the aluminum post: Measure and cut post to 1/4" less than floor to ceiling height. (Both brackets will add the extra 1/4" to equal the floor to ceiling height) Replace brackets.
  4. Second, cut the top of all PVC column staves to exactly floor to ceiling height.
  5. Place post under desired installation position and mark through the base brackets holes on to floor.
  6. Remove post and pre-drill marked floor using a 1/4" masonry bit.
  7. Return post back to desired position and place PVC larger base bracket over top aluminum floor bracket, tight to corner of post, recess side down. (See Figure A).
  8. Fasten approved screws first on the PVC base bracket side, then on aluminum side. (See Figure A) Then install smaller PVC cap bracket making sure recessed side goes up, and is on same corner as base PVC bracket.
  9. After installing post and PVC brackets securely to floor and ceiling, combine two column staves together along lock miter edge and fasten with finishing nails along same edge, creating a half L column. Repeat step for remaining staves.
  10. Take one of the half L columns and place on outside edge of base and cap PVC brackets. Nail finishing nails through the half L to base and cap PVC brackets. Take the remaining half L and attach to the installed half L nailing along lock miter edge. (See Figure C)
  11. Install any additional decorative trim pieces according to your columns type & style specifications.
  12. Caulk all miter edges, nail holes and gaps after trim installation.

Pedestal Assembly Instructions
[See what comes in the box pedestal box] [See what comes in the tapered pedestal box]

  1. Measure from floor to ceiling where pedestal and column is to be installed.
  2. Starting with the aluminum post first: measure and cut post to exact floor to ceiling height.
  3. Place column under desired position and mark through base brackets holes to floor and ceiling.
  4. Pre-drill marked floor with a 3/16" masonry bit for base bracket installation.
  5. Slide post through pedestal top hole (See Figure B)
  6. Return aluminum post with brackets back to desired position. Place pedestal PVC base cleat tight to post corner making sure the bracket inlay is facing down (See Figure A).
  7. Use an approved masonary screw and screw down base of post PVC cleat and post bracket (See Figure A)
  8. When installing with a tapered or box column be sure to use that columns top cleat. Install this cleat just like the base making sure the column cleat bracket inlay faces up. (See figure A)
  9. Next wrap pedestal around base PVC cleat nailing the pedestal to the cleat on the two base cleat sides. Join and close pedestal at its seems nailing along it's edge.
  10. Slide pedestal top down nailing it to pedestal.
  11. Finish nailing the base trim pieces to the pedestals base and the top trim to the top of the pedestal. (See Figure C)
